Meet Debbie

Yours Truly
HI THERE! I’m Debbie and the co-anchor for this site along with my dear friend Kristin. You can meet her on the “Meet Kristin” page! After a few encouraging comments about my writing style, the wheels began turning and that little voice inside my head kept telling me “You’ve got something to say!”. Okay, I thought…maybe I do, but what to do and where to focus all this good stuff was my next thought. Lucky for me, my job entails working with some really awesome and talented mommies! That’s perfect!
I am blessed and tickled silly over my niece and nephew and if it were up to me, would speak of them incessantly if someone wanted to listen. However, I am 26 years old and not too many of my friends are thrilled to hear about my thoughts on children, parenting, what’s cool for kids, and shopping at the Disney store (more often than I should!). However, I am also blessed to have an older brother and sister-in-law (Mommy and Daddy to the 2 little ones) who, along with their very dear friends, have taken me in as one of the group, AND more importantly, totally understand my excitement about children and the joy they bring into your life.
Most of them are new mommies, so it’s kind of like everyone is going through all these new phases and experiences together and I’m blessed to be a part of it! (The only difference for me is I get to hand them back. LOL) I’ve had countless hours of quality kid time to even go into my wealth of knowledge about the little kiddos. Although, I know exactly when my love of children and that over-flowing joy rose up in my heart…My brother, Neil and my sister-in-law, Trish, had their first baby. That’s when the joy of children started stirring around and finally it boiled over when I was working at Walt Disney World. How much cheesier does it get, right?!
Day in and day out I met so many children, some not-so-nice, but the majority of them just so excited, so kind and loving, a little timid and shy, but still adorable…just a constant flow of reminders at how blessed we are to have that innocence and raw joy constantly surround us. I know some days we take it for granted, but at the end of the day, you can still feel it in your heart no matter how angry they made you that day.
My niece (and Goddaughter) Delaney was born April 12, 2005 and upon my graduation from college, I basically moved in with my brother and sister-in-law to care for her and to help them so they didn’t have to expend the cost of daycare (quite insanely priced these days, I might add!). In August, I decided to go to Disney and I spent a year there and came home. Once I came home, I picked up watching Delaney again on Mondays, while my Mom did Fridays, and then she went to day care 3 days. I loved my Mondays – despite the hour and a half drive each way from Jersey (where I was living at the time). It was just so great to spend that time with her though. She was just so precious and so perfect – its the most amazing feeling…your heart just wants to burst open with love – she was just so little and yet, growing every day. It’s pretty neat to see the little milestones they go through from week to week and sometimes even day to day. Delaney is now (almost!) 4 years old and she’s just blossomed into such a precious little angel.

A girl after my own heart!
Last January, the little man came along – Chase – he was born January 7, 2008. He’s a little lovebug! He loves to be held and I certainly don’t mind! Aunt Dee Dee would be happy to have him permanently attached to my hip! LOL He’s the most adorable thing and he’s got this belly laugh that just makes you laugh along with him because its so darned cute! Needless to say, I am truly blessed with the most amazing niece and nephew anyone could ever hope or pray for and I couldn’t be more thankful to have the time and moments with them that I do. They are like little pieces of heaven that remind me to lighten up and just enjoy the moment!

The little ham!

The proudest Aunt in the world!
